Signs your system is due for service
Regular maintenance is easy to put off. These are signs it’s time:
- It’s been more than a year since anyone looked at the system.
- Airflow feels weaker than it used to, or some rooms have fallen behind.
- The system is louder or smells different when it starts up.
- The filter is overdue, or you’re not sure where it is.
- Energy bills have crept up without a change in how you use the house.
What an HVAC tune-up covers
Every system is different, but a typical AC or furnace tune-up includes:
- Filter checked and replaced, and the right size noted for next time
- Burners, ignition and safety controls checked on furnaces
- Refrigerant-side operation checked on air conditioners and heat pumps
- Condensate drain checked and cleared
- Electrical connections and components inspected
- Thermostat operation confirmed
- A plain-language summary of anything that needs attention
Your written estimate lists exactly what your project includes.

AC tune-up and maintenance questions
How often should my system be serviced?
Once a year is a good baseline for most homes. Systems that heat and cool, like heat pumps, benefit from a check before each main season.
Will you try to sell me things I don’t need?
No. There are no commissioned salespeople here. If something needs attention, you get a clear explanation and written options — and if nothing does, we tell you that too.
Do you maintain systems you didn’t install?
Yes. We service all major brands.
What happens if you find a problem?
We explain what we found and what it means. You decide whether and when to fix it.
When are you available?
Monday–Friday, 7am–5pm. Call (650) 650-2653 to schedule.
